Change Audio Volume

Make a quiet recording or song louder, or a loud one softer, without installing anything.

What this tool does

Phone recordings and old songs are often too quiet to hear clearly. Move the slider to make the audio louder or softer, or tick normalize to bring it to the loudest level it can reach without crackling. Then listen and save.

How to use it

  1. Choose your audio file.
  2. Move the slider, or tick normalize.
  3. Tap Change volume and listen.
  4. Download the new file.

Popular ways to use it

Questions people ask

How do I increase the volume of an MP3?

Choose the file, move the slider to +6 dB or more, and tap Change volume. +6 dB is about twice as loud.

What does normalize do?

It raises the volume until the loudest part is just below distortion, the cleanest way to make audio louder.

Why does it crackle?

Too much boost clips the loud parts. Use a smaller boost or normalize.

Is my audio uploaded?

No. Everything happens inside your browser. Your file never leaves your device.
